COURTENAY RECREATION WELCOME

Courtenay Recreation Table of Contents

As I write this, hope is on the horizon thanks to the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines. We are so grateful for the health care and essential workers who have gone the extra mile, and then some, over this past year. On behalf of the team at Courtenay Recreation, a huge thank you and round of applause to program partic- ipants and the public who have been accessing recreation services. Your careful adherence to safety guide- lines helps us keep others and our staff safe. I’d also like to highlight the Recre- ation team who have worked so hard to adapt programs and facility operations, including many creative and unique offerings to help us stay connected, healthy, and active. Thank you all. Let’s look forward to brighter days ahead.

SNAG golf is a great introduction to the game of golf. It utilizes larg- er plastic clubs that are specifically designed with a larger sweet spot on the club-face to match larger targets with bulls eyes. Tennis balls are used rather than regular golf balls to ensure easier strikes. All targets are Velcro which height- ens the level of fun when a good shot is hit and a target is struck. This equipment will help you form a solid base of fundamentals that will last a life time, all while main- taining a high level of enjoyment. Using this as a stepping stone to the beginner program is a great idea. May depend on skill. Instructor: Brian Wise #6739 Tuesday - Thursday March 23 - 25 #6740 Monday - Wednesday

GOLF SPRING BREAK DAYCAMP (8 - 14 years) This class provides a full day of activity both at the golf course and at the Mark Isfeld Field. The group will learn how to putt, chip and hit full shots but also play sports out on the field. It is essential that kids get the lateral training in sports to assess their full potential. The day will begin with putting and chipping practice, followed by sports based activities at Mark Isfeld, returning to Crown Isle for lunch (which is provided) and then back to the driving range for swing practice. This day will have lots of opportunities for the kids to grow as both golfers and athletes. SB

Golf lessons take place at Crown Isle Golf Course

SNAG GOLF (5 - 10 years)

SB

SNAG golf is a great introduction to the game of golf. It utilizes larger plastic clubs that are specifically designed with a larger sweet spot on the club-face to match larger targets with bulls-eyes. Tennis balls are used rather than regular golf balls to ensure easier strikes. All targets are Velcro which heightens the level of fun when a good shot is hit and a target is struck. This equipment will help you form a solid base of fundamentals that will last a life time, all while maintaining a high level of enjoyment. Using this as a stepping stone to the beginner program is a great idea. May depend on skill.
