Policies

LE 1

Support the expansion of green, low-carbon place-based economic development and recovery.

LE 2

Support buy-local and staycation campaigns.

LE 3

Promote green and low-carbon construction and building retrofit programs as significant local economic development opportunities as per the CleanBC Economic Development Action Strategies. Support initiatives that generate value-added, community-based business development, including but not limited to, arts and culture, local food processing, specialty forest products, and other value-added product manufacturing. Support an eco-industrial networking approach for industrial land development such as co locating businesses that can create collaborative networks to more efficiently and effectively use resources such as materials, energy, and talent. Consider how the impacts of climate change will affect local businesses in all aspects of policy development. This includes both positive and negative changes in seasonal events, recreation, tourism, and agriculture activities that rely heavily on specific weather conditions.
