BEGINNER’S BLUES GUITAR Get happy while strumming the Blues! This course will focus on 12 bar blues songs and cover strumming patterns, turn arounds, blues scales and simple on djembe and bass drums. Great for the mind, body and spirit! This class is intended for those with previous experience. No class October 6, 13, Decem ber 1 & 8. PIANO - BEYOND BEGINNERS (19 years & over) Are you looking to continue to improve your piano skills? These small group classes are for partic ipants with some experience that would like to study the basics of music and grow their skills! Music book is included in cost and a pia no or keyboard is recommended for practicing at home. BEGINNERS AFRICAN DRUMMING In this class, participants learn basic hand drumming tech niques and begin to play tradi tional West African rhythms on the djembe & dunduns (bass drums). These introductory les sons and rhythms lay the foun dation for higher-level courses and will be of interest to those wanting to explore how engag ing in ensemble drumming is both uplifting and good for phys ical and mental health. Partici pants are required to bring their own djembe to class. No class September 22, October 20, 27, BEYOND BEGINNERS AFRICAN DRUMMING Looking for a place to enhance your drumming skills? Do you have a few beginners sessions under your belt but you’re not quite ready to jump to the intermediate level? This is the class for you! In this class we will continue to improve on tech nique while learning new & ex citing West African rhythms - all while having fun getting into the groove.
