HOW YOU CAN HELP Just a few hours a week could make the future brighter for people in our community. Red Cross Client Services volunteers support clients and caregivers by helping them access equipment during recovery from surgery, illness or to assist people spending their final days at home.

WHO WE HELP The Canadian Red Cross lends health equipment to people living at home, including those recovering from illness or injury. With an appropriate referral from a health care professional, you can borrow equipment on a by-donation basis from one of our HELP locations.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM The Canadian Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) provides Canadians with short-term loans of health equipment on a donation basis. The Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) is a community-based service that is made possible through the support of health authorities, donations of used equipment, and the efforts of hundreds of volunteers and professional staff. This program is an integral part of our healthcare system and the health and safety of our clients is our top priority.

HELP BASIC in B.C. is available for people who need health equipment up to six months, such as walkers, wheelchairs and other mobility aids or raised toilet seats, bath stools and other bathing aids.
