Winter 2023 Rec Guide

Cozy Corner Accessible Play Space Cozy Corner Preschool at the Lewis Centre now has an accessible outdoor play space that has some availability to the public. The play space is used by preschool participants when in session but is available to the public after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and all day on the weekends. The play space is designed for children from two to five years old and features a saddle spinner, custom play fort, log steppers, rain sound wheel panel, junior drum, junior goblet drums and Cascada bells. This project is made possible thanks to a grant from Employment and Social Development Canada: Early Learning and Child Care small project component under the Enabling Accessibility Fund.

Sheffield Park Tree Planting

Sheffield Park is a new greenspace located off Crown Isle Drive in Sheffield Crescent. This is a maintained and open greenspace serving as informal gathering space and can accommodate unstructured children’s play, dog walks (on leash) and general recreation. In September trees were planted in the park and drainage was installed.

Courtenay Recreation coordinates the use of all parks and school playing fields located in the City of Courtenay. Field Closures: Fields may be closed due to weather conditions. We would appreciate your cooperation in not using the fields during these times. Courtenay Recreation also books the Artificial Turf Field located at GP Vanier. Please note that only limited spaces are available.
