Free Naturalist Guided Park Walks

PLEC Time (Ages 0-6 + Adult) Play, Learn, Experience & Con- nect This is a great new free drop-in program that will provide connec- tions for both you and your child. These informal parent and tot drop-ins will include an education- al or skill development activity for the kids (with a focus on physical literacy skills and outdoor play) and a short community resource awareness session (i.e. upcoming Island Health clinics, family events etc.) for the adults. The rest of the time parents/adult caregiv- ers can connect with others as the children play and make new friends. This program is brought to you by multiple partners includ- ing the CVRD, Active Comox Valley, Building Connections for Comox Valley Family Project, Comox Valley School District 71, and Island Health. Please note: Parent or adult participation required for this new community based pro- gram. Family Trails The purpose of Family Trails is to provide opportunities for Comox Valley Residents with young chil- dren to meet up to enjoy regular self-directed outings in CVRD parks. It is a great opportunity for your children to be active in the outdoors and meet new friends. This free program is organized in partnership with the Building Connections for Valley Families Project. Get outside and play this spring! Meet MONDAYS at 10:00 AM at the following locations and dates: Mar 7—Driftwood Marine Park (Meet at access off of Beach Cres) Apr 11—Nymph Falls Park (Meet at 1st parking lot on left of Forbid- den Plateau Rd) Apr 25—Tsolum River Walk at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds (Meet in the Club Parking Lot) May 2—Seal Bay Nature Park (Meet at parking lot on Bates Rd) May 9—Headquarters Town Site (Meet at access point ~711 Head- quarters Rd) May 16—Foden Park (Park at the end of Foden Road, off of Little River Rd) May 30—Goose Spit Park (Meet by outhouses off Hawkins) • All Family Trails meet ups are free and self-directed. • Simply meet up in the park with other families with young children and head off on your adventure. • Meet in the parking lot of the designated park. • Please remember to wear weather appropriate clothes and footwear. • Please leave your pets at home.
