Message from the Mayor

2021 brought about another difficult year, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to change our way of life in the Comox Valley and around the world. Despite these challenges, the Comox Recreation Centre has adapted to the best of their ability while keeping the health and safety of Comox residents and staff top of mind. The Town appreciates all Community Centre users for their flexibility and cooperation during these difficult circumstances.

A new spring schedule means several exciting programs and activities for all ages to enjoy! Classes such as high-intensity fitness, gentle yoga, and older adult fitness ensure there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Young families can enjoy a range of programs, with Gym Bugs, Childminding, and Baby and Me offered throughout the year. One new exciting offering is the Hands on Farm program, aimed at introducing farm animals to children in a controlled and safe setting. Youth programming continues to grow, as Comox Youth Council, Gym Class Heroes, and other fitness activities ensure our younger population gets the necessary active engagement they need. We look forward to seeing you around the Centre and enjoying the wonderful amenities available. On behalf of Comox Council and Town staff, I wish you and yours a healthy and happy 2022!
