1 CORPORATE ALIGNMENT, PLAN ADMINISTRATION, AND PERFORMANCE MONITORING
Current policies and regulations will be reviewed in a timely manner to bring them into alignment and support the OCP. Where existing regulations, as well as other standards, policies, and practices allow for interpretation, discretion or prioritization, such flexibility shall be considered in ways that support the objectives and implementation of the OCP. The OCP is intended to be used as the foundation of all stages of the corporate decision-making process and source of directions, ideas, and actions to fulfill
The City of Courtenay has many plans, policies, and strategies in place that provide detailed direction for planning and development, engineering, parks and recreation, culture, and more. Some of these documents already align with the OCP and may require minor updates, while others require realignment of their approach to prioritize outcomes based on the OCP vision and goals. Whether updating exiting plans, policies or strategies, or creating new ones, they must all align with the OCP vision, goals, and related policies.
