Painting with Watercolours

Bringing order to complexity is the key to painting, particularly to water colour painting. In a step by step demonstration driv- en teaching process this is ex- actly what you will learn to do. This class is characterized by per- sonal coaching in an enjoyable atmosphere. The program will provide solutions to problems encountered by newer waterco- lour painters such as controlling the water. Techniques unique to water colour such as washes, graded washes, masking, dry brush, glazing and more all ex- plained. Attention will be paid to the selection and care of ma- terials and tools that will make your work more rewarding. You will develop an understanding of paint and paper properties. You will be encouraged to write small vignettes that recount dif- ferent aspects of your life. Learn to Classic Cross Country Ski Want to find a way to beat the winter blah’s and get outdoors? Cross country skiing is a great way to meet new people, get some fresh air and exercise and enjoy it in the beauty of Strathcona Pro- vincial Park. Paradise Meadows comes by its name honestly. Over the course of a month you will learn the basics of classic cross coun- try skiing, including how to navigate the hills. We will work our way into confidence with a ski tour for the last class and reward ourselves with a fondue. Designed for novice skiiers. Meet at Raven Lodge @ 9:30 am, please bring a lunch.
