All events are fundraisers for the Evergreen Club. Get-Up-And-Go Challenge Thursday September 14 10 am The “Get Up and Go Challenge” promotes physical activity among seniors regardless of physical ability and does so in a non-competitive setting with minimum cost to, and no preparation required by, the participant… just show up and walk with us! This age 55+ event challenges all participating seniors to complete their choice of one of three pre determined routes (1.5 km, 2.5 km, 4 km). All routes will begin and end at the Evergreen lounge in the Florence Filberg Centre. Register on the day of the event. $5 Prizes and snacks provided. Rock & Roll Pub Night Friday October 20

Join us for a night of music from the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s. Listen to the live band, Overboard, hang out or get out on the dance floor, and enjoy some snacks! Members’ & Guests Halloween Party Tuesday October 31 Dress up and join us for an afternoon of music, treats & fun! Memories of the Wars Years: A Musical Review Wednesday November 8 Music and memories, thoughtful, poignant & humorous and a sing along too!

Evergreen Lounge Come enjoy a fresh baked muffin, soup, salad or sandwich in the Evergreen Lounge! A variety of delicious hot specials, like lasagna, chicken enchiladas, pizza, beef dip and Rubens, are offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Check our Evergreen Club newsletter to see the specials in advance. You can also grab a frozen dinner for later. Our kitchen has a dedicated group of volunteers allowing us to offer affordable prices. Meet up with a friend for coffee or a meal, have a game of cards. Everyone is welcome. Members can take out a book, DVD or puzzle from our lending library.

Volunteering at the Evergreen Club is a great way to get involved and meet people and help provide a valuable service to our community. We are always looking for more volunteers so we can continue to offer a variety of clubs, special events and food at affordable prices. The Evergreen Club also welcomes volunteers to start new activity clubs. If you have a favourite activity not listed please let us know and maybe we can get it going! Hours are flexible to accommodate your busy schedule, and can start at just 2 hours a month. If you would like to learn more, we would love to chat with you.
