MCFD SUMMER CAMP SUPPORT

LEADERS IN TRAINING (12 - 18 years) Have fun, get involved, gain work experience and build your re- sume as you become an awesome leader! You’ll learn to lead games and activities, and help plan and facilitate some special activities for the children’s summer camps. We’ll also cover behaviour man - agement, leadership and team- work skills. Then as a volunteer in children’s programs you can be mentored testing out your new skills. If yes, our Leisure Buddy program may be able to provide support to your child/ youth. See page 20 for more info. Families who have children getting services through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) are eligible for support in our Summer Camp Programs for ages 6-18 years. These programs are for children/youth who have additional support considerations and are wanting to attend camp. Please contact the local Children and Youth with Special Needs (CYSN) office at 250-334-5820 to see if your child/youth is eligible as a letter from CYSN is required for registration. Only children/ youth with an intellectual disabil- ity, autism, or receive services through the At Home program are eligible for CYSN services.
