Courtenay Trail Improvements

The Airpark Lookout

In 2018 the Parks department has made upgrades on many trail systems within Courtenay. Extensive re-surfacing was done to these trails: • Valleyview Greenway (between Thorpe Avenue and Mallard Drive) • Courtenay Riverway Trail • The Airpark Lookout • Crown Isle Park (150 Year Grove) This past July, the Millard Creek Bridge on the Courtenay Riverway Trail underwent repairs to the bridge deck. Trail renovations continue this fall and winter with more work planned at Simms Millenium Park and Veteran’s Memorial Parkway as well as other locations. As well as re-surfacing, the trail maintenance crew have been working hard managing vegetation along the trails, with many improvements along our most used trails.

Courtenay Recreation coordinates the use of all parks and school playing fields located in the City of Courtenay. Field Closures: Fields may be closed due to weather condi- tions. We would appreciate your cooperation in not using the fields during these times. Courtenay Recreation also books the Artificial Turf Field located at GP Vanier. Please note that only limited spaces are available.
