Collaborate with utility providers to coordinate wherever possible infrastructure planning to support community growth. This includes sharing datasets and other information, coordinating capital planning, and establishing policies and regulatory standards that co-locate infrastructure where mutually beneficial.

Support the creation of high quality and assured communications links.
Work with utility companies to coordinate planning and development of electricity and other low carbon energy infrastructure (e.g., solar, geothermal, etc.) to ensure project efficiencies, minimize costs, reduce public nuisance, and ensure sufficient supply. Encourage the generation of more renewable energy within Courtenay subject to form and character and other land use considerations. Collaborate with BC Hydro to review and consider flexible options to support overhead connections for Neighbourhood Centres and other ground-oriented forms of development.
