C omox Fire Rescue provides a broad spectrum of services to over 23,000 citizens. These important services provide 24/7/365 to the citizens of the Town of Comox, CVRD Area “B” and K’omoks First Nations. We have a mutual aid agreement with each of the other Comox Valley Fire Departments including CFB 19 Wing Comox. Utilizing a staff of six full-time and approximately fifty-five, well-trained, paid on-call firefighters, Comox Fire Rescue provides a rapid response to over six hundred emergencies a year. A great emphasis is put on our fire prevention, education and emergency preparedness programs and basic CPR classes. Comox Fire Rescue’s Smoke Alarm program provides over 150 free smoke alarms each year to its citizens during in- home visitations. The program also offers free smoke alarm battery replacements and inspections.

Our centrally located fire station also includes our own Training Centre; two fire engines, a ladder truck, two rescue vehicles, two structure protection trailers (wildfire), one hazmat trailer and one water trailer. Comox Fire Rescue stays updated with modern safety equipment including the latest self-contained breathing apparatus, personal protective equipment as well as technology to fight fires and train safer. Staff are very community minded and assist our residents and neighbourhoods in so many ways.
